SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED BY PRESIDENT OF LAURICH PROPERTIES
(Las Vegas, NV) - One local developer
is giving real estate students at the University of Nevada,
Las Vegas the opportunity for a free education.
Hank Gordon, president of Laurich Properties,
has established the Hank Gordon Real Estate Scholarship. The
recipient of the scholarship will receive $5,000 annually
to be applied to his or her tuition and books. The first Hank
Gordon Real Estate Scholarship will be awarded during the
Fall semester of 1999.
"This scholarship is an opportunity
to help students achieve their education and professional
goals and to give something back to the community that has
been very good to me," said Hank Gordon, president of Laurich
Properties, who has more than 40 years of experience in the
commercial and residential real estate business. "More students
need to be recognized for their hard work, and I hope that
the Hank Gordon Real Estate Scholarship gives them the incentive
to continue their education and development in real estate
studies."
The scholarship will be awarded annually
to a full-time student who has a minimum 2.75 grade point
average; holds a sophomore, junior or senior standing at the
time the scholarship is awarded; is a Nevada resident; and
is a student in the UNLV College of Business with a real-estate
major.
The UNLV College of Business Scholarship
Committee will select candidates who meet the eligibility
requirements for the scholarship.
Laurich Properties, Inc. is the largest
Las Vegas-based shopping center developer with more than 3-million
square feet of retail space in southern Nevada. Since 1990,
Laurich Properties has been responsible for more than two-dozen
neighborhood and power shopping centers in the Las Vegas area.
Presently, Laurich has more than 22 retail projects in the
