"MAIN STREET RETAILERS" MAKING A COMEBACK IN LAS VEGAS

(Las Vegas, NV) - The newest trend in Las Vegas retailing isn't really new at all. Supermarkets, drug stores and hardware stores are making a big comeback, giving neighborhoods localized, retail alternatives to centralized warehouse stores and shopping centers.

"What we are seeing is the proliferation of small, neighborhood shopping centers with tenants that used to be identified with nostalgic downtown shopping districts," says Hank Gordon, president of Laurich Properties, Inc., Las Vegas' largest shopping center developer. "You could call these new supermarkets, drug stores and hardware stores 'Neo-Main Street retailers.'"
